Hello blogsville
Well, now, at last I am sitting at my computer having dealt with all those minor details that create a proper weekend, and wondering how to start my new Blog??
Minor details? You know, cooking numerous meals for untold numbers of friends and family, cleaning strange and slightly sinister marks off of surfaces that should by all reasonable standards be quite clean but somehow never are, wondering about the amount of washing that one fairly small (nuclear?) family can create, and drawing satisfaction from tasks such as ironing (to starch or not to starch…?), washing up and re-potting a couple of surprised plants that have stood in placid ignorance on a window ledge all summer…
Add to that list any other chores you can think of and I reckon I have been there doing that, this weekend… Well, I suppose I have to catch up after quite a bit of touring recently and now that the University term has started again, I need to create some more personal time for studying….
But it is a good point, isn’t it? How best to start a new Blog? I have had a Blog previously, and enjoyed creating it, but I have to admit that for a lot of reasons, life got a bit in the way of my attempts at being a world-class author and the first Blog slowed down and eventually stalled! But now that I have launched my new website (by the way, I hope you all like the new style and appearance – and my new photos) I thought it would be a good idea to start a new Blog.
So here it is – and here I am!
I hope that together with my new site, this Blog will give you a little glimpse of my life and my thoughts about all sorts of things. Perhaps we will end up chatting about some interesting topics! I hope so… after all, we seem to be living in interesting times…. not only are we having to cope with a major recession and some extraordinary political times, but it seems that our little world of Ladies and Gentlemen is being questioned by Harriet Harman (who, in my opinion, is being a mouthpiece for a feminist agenda that seems to be lurking nastily somewhere in the background).
I hate to say it (I never used to consider myself as a wildly political animal!) but nothing I have read in the press gives me any confidence that our politicians have the foggiest idea what they are talking about when they start to get on their high horses about PunterNet etc etc. Hopefully, with an election coming, it will all die down and the uninformed twits will disappear. Unless of course the next Government takes a similar view…. Isn’t it a shame that our political agenda seems to consider the legal status of “Ladies Like Me” as being just as important as the economy, global warming and banker’s bonuses! (Hmmm…. actually maybe I don’t want to knock Banker’s Bonuses… I may have a vested interest – Hee Hee!).
Anyway, enough musing… Time for bed, as I have to get up early to make sure that “heir No 2″ is off to school on time and looking smart.
And Hola Blog! Cheers to the future!!
(to be continued…)
