Itchy feet….
I have been living in London for many years now, and I really love this great city of ours! At different times, I have enjoyed the retail therapy (what girl doesn’t?), the nightclubs, the theatres and music haunts as well as browsing around some of the quaint “villagey” areas that are still around. More recently, I have been living a little out of the centre where things aren’t quite so hectic for my family, and – to be truthful – where I am closer to the places I need to get to regularly every week for my “other” work
But I always try to be honest with myself and I am now ready to admit that I do rather miss the buzz of being “downtown” (as our American cousins like to call it), close to all the things that make London what it really is! Unfortunately, my “other” work does not involve me being a banker with big bonuses or an MP with access to extensive expense accounts, and so I am not right now in a position to move all of us into the West End – much though I would like to!
But what I have decided that I can do, is to find myself a little hide-away, close to an underground station, so that every now and then I can rush into town and get a little fix of the atmosphere and vibrations of the city!
And then it dawned on me… why not combine the two things I love and get the best of both worlds? Why shouldn’t I sometimes make use of my little hideaway for some incalls?
And so that is how it has happened that from next week I will be offering to take appointments in a lovely location in Notting Hill, most weeks on a Wednesday and possibly other times as well (depending on my other commitments)! I do hope that this will let me meet some great new friends – I really can’t wait!
(To be continued…)
